UK - ECT continues to expand its POPscreen range and says that high quality images are produced with them, thanks to the manufacturing process which employs casting techniques rather than extrusion. With the aid of chemical enhancements ECT has developed a screen that "maintains the high quality of quartz crystal screens at a price that reflects the economies of scale production".

The methods used in the manufacture are critical in the performance levels that can be enjoyed. The casting process ensures the quartz crystal diffusion particles are poured into the liquid acrylic before polymerisation, and settle to a very fine layer within the thickness of the acrylic sheet. This process creates a fine image-capture plane, so that images projected onto the screens are of high quality and have a very wide angle of viewing. Another distinct advantage of the POP screen, continues ETC, is size - POP screens are available up to 130" diagonal.
