Equipped with six DMX channels, the DP-640 offers travelling productions and theatres the all-in-one convenience of being able to simultaneously dim effects via current regulator and switch them on and off as desired. Any of the unit's six channels can easily be configured to perform either function, giving the DP-640 enough flexibility for day-to-day use in a wide variety of applications.
Featuring an extremely lightweight aluminium chassis, the DP-640 was also designed to meet the portability requirements of users on the go. The unit weighs just 6.2lbs another feature that makes it ideal for travelling productions and the rental market.
"With its double-duty capacity, the DP-640 represents a major benefit for stage shows and rental houses who would otherwise have to purchase and haul around a separate dimmer and relay switch," said John Lopez, sales manager for Elation Professional. "It allows stage hands and lighting techs to work faster, lighter and more efficiently than ever before."
The high-tech DP-640 offers convenient channel patching, which gives users the ability to assign any channel to any output. As an alternative to potentially confusing dipswitch settings, a digital LED display on the unit clearly shows all current functions like patching and DMX channels. For added flexibility, a manual override lets users operate the DP-640 on its own without the need for a DMX controller.
"The DP-640 is going to make it considerably easier for stage productions to incorporate complex lighting systems into their act," Lopez said. "The dimmer portion lets you continuously reduce the illumination intensity of effects, while the relay switch turns virtually any electrical device - be it a light fixture, a fountain or a rotating disco ball - instantly on and off."
The DP-640 features three - and five-pin XLR input/output. The unit comes with dual Edison power cords and can handle 2,400W total or 20amps maximum draw. It measures 18.5"L x 3.5"W x 6.5"H, and weighs 6.2 lbs.
