Edgewater's 400-seat theatre is outfitted with LED fixtures and DMX moving heads from Elation Professional, which are operated wirelessly via Elation EWDMX wireless DMX transmitters and receivers. The lighting system, which includes some 170 fixtures, was sold and installed by Production Resource Group Orlando (PRG).
"To my knowledge, I don't believe there is a public high school in the country with this level of stage lighting or sophistication of technology installed," said Elation sales rep Mike Quinn of Freed Sales (Miami), who worked closely with the Orange County Public School District (OCPS) and PRG to implement the new system.
Among the Elation lights used in the system are: six Design Spot 1200C, six Design Wash 575E and six Design Spot 575E moving heads; 48 x ELAR108 PAR RGBW LED PAR cans; 12 Design LED 60 TRI Strip 180-watt tri-colour RGB strips; 10 Design LED 60 Strip WA white and amber LED strips; and 10 Design Wash LED 60 180-watt LED moving head washes.
Atmospheric effects are provided by an Antari DNG-200 heavy fogger and Antari HZ-500 water-based hazers, also from Elation. Four Elation EWDMX systems, each consisting of a wireless DMX transmitter and receiver, along with two additional EWDMXR wireless receivers allow the lights to be run without burdensome cables.
