As a result of the renovation which also included an upgrading of new intelligent light armatures, the theatre's technicians, Flint Sjoerd Wierda and Ad Slotboom, realised that the theatre needed to extend and change its technical infrastructure in order to deal with the demands of the new system. Working together with Rolight, the exclusive ELC Lighting distributor for The Netherlands, they designed an ELC network into the re-fit.
Having already worked with ELC equipment at the City Theater in Kampen, Sjoerd was keen to implement it again. "As a high profile venue, providing first class facilities for everything from theatre shows to conferences, it was vital that the technical infrastructure was as impressive as the interior fit outs. Having a knowledge of ELC Lighting's products made it very easy for me to decide that we needed to install these products at Theater de Flint too," he said.
As part of the upgrade to the system which had first been renovated in the summer of 2014, the technicians decided to install a variety of ELC nodes and truss mounts in the theatre venue, the foyer and the City Hall suite. Ad explained: "As a result of the installation, the ELC products will route all data/ DMX/ Audio and Video signals from one place to another. They will also be capable of merging, soft patching and providing a user friendly network for guests of the theatre."
Theater de Flint now boasts an ability to adapt from bustling nightclub to big scale conference, smaller business meetings through to intimate dinners. With a variety of rooms to rent, clients can transform the space into any atmosphere and style thanks to a first class audio and lighting system controlled by a range of products from ELC Lighting.
Sjoerd added, "ELC Lighting has provided us with quality, reliable products but also excellent customer service, support and reliability. All the products are very workable and user friendly and any questions we have had about the system have been answered satisfactorily. We will without doubt, continue to use ELC products in the future."
