The centrepiece of the theatre's new sound system comprises - for the first time in Europe, Africa and the Middle East - the new Electro-Voice Expandable Vertical Array (EVA) system. This system, which was specially designed for fixed installation. The full-range, passive system was installed in the theatre to the left and right of the stage opening with each rig comprising three EVA-2082S/906 enclosures and one EVA-2081S/1220.
"The system convinced us straight away with its even coverage and full-range reproduction across the entire frequency range, for which no additional subwoofers are needed," says TRE Professionelle Audiotechnik's Robert Ernst. "In the area of signal processing (Electro-Voice Dx38), nothing more was needed than a high-pass filter in the sub-bass region and a low-pass filter at 16kHz to afford the system optimal protection against extremely low and extremely high frequencies."
The installation is driven by a DSA 8805 from Dynacord. The new multi-channel amplifier is equipped with an RCM-810 module, which makes control via IRIS-Net possible.
