Eight of their Quake subwoofers were recently deployed on the Wisley Music Festival in Surrey. The three night event played to sold-out crowds each evening, with a different genre each performance. The first night included Catherine Jenkins, the second featured music from the hit musical Dirty Dancing, and the third night gave the system the chance to really show what it could do with music from the Counterfeit Stones and Killer Queen.
The system comprised four Quakes per side, underpinning a 7-box EAW line array hang (5 KF760 enclosures and two KF761 enclosures per side). The system was driven by LabGruppen LAB2000 and fp6400 power amplifiers, with a Midas H3000 at FOH and an XL3 on monitors.
Eurohire are not planning to sit back over the summer, with the Kent Festival and Oakleigh Hall Festival already booked, as well as gigs with Megadeath in the coming months and UK tours booked for later in the year.
Eurohire senior engineer Tim McAdam comments: "The Quake subwoofers are the best I have ever heard. The frequency response is amazing, producing real level even as low as 30Hz. I have been and continue to be very impressed by them."
EM Acoustics' Mike Wheeler adds: "It's great to see Eurohire expanding their stock further, especially having seen them get the most out of their original eight Quakes over the last few years. Merv and the others have been loyal EM supporters throughout the last few years, and with their recent order it shows they're still very much involved in the brand. We couldn't ask for anything more."
