The show, which has been designed by award winning lighting designer Simon Wilkinson and has an original sound score composed by Ronnie McConnell, takes The Enchanted Forest back to its roots as a spectacular son et lumière.
Derek Allan, chairman of the Enchanted Forest commented, "This year we've endeavoured to approach the design of the show a little differently than in the past. Instead of entrusting the outcome to a single company, we've brought together a team of experts and artists in lighting design and sound design, who are working with one of Scotland's most reputable lighting companies to make their vision become a reality.
"The effect will be a more naturalistic style of show which will truly enhance the beauty of the Autumnal forest setting."
The challenge of lighting an entire forest and transforming it into a journey through some of nature's strongest forces is a daunting but exciting project for any company.
Chris McNelis, event manager for Northern Light said, "The Enchanted Forest is arguably Scotland's top sound and lighting event and we are thrilled to be chosen to deliver this year's show. Simon Wilkinson and Ronnie McConnell have designed a show that is both technically challenging and undeniably beautiful. We are very much looking forward to putting the installations in and seeing it brought to life in what is a stunning woodland setting."
Force of Nature will be the ninth Enchanted Forest event to be held in Highland Perthshire, and is anticipated to attract 20,000 visitors to the area between 22 October and 7 November 2010.
The Enchanted Forest has grown every year since it was founded in 2002 and is firmly established as one of Scotland's premier tourist events. It is being run this year by the Highland Perthshire Community Interest Company, a community based social enterprise.
