This year's event was run for the first time by the Highland Perthshire Community Interest Company (HPCIC), on behalf of the community, who selected Northern Light to work with the sound and lighting designers to bring the show to fruition.
The event has been particularly well received this year, with over a thousand customers rating it the most enjoyable yet.
Nick Read, Northern Light's head of hire and events, said, "This spectacular event was months in the planning and we worked very closely with composer and sound designer R J McConnell and lighting designer Simon Wilkinson to realise the overall concept. We subcontracted the sound element of the installation to DM Audio, as they offered a versatile, cost effective system which integrated well with our design brief."
The idea of using lighting and sound to enhance the natural forest landscape and loch within Faskally Wood led to the premise Forces of Nature. Seven main areas along the route were identified and themes included Fire and Brimstone and Wild Water.
A huge variety of technical equipment was utilised to enable the transformation of the 125,000 square metre site, including ETC Congo consoles, i-Pix BB1 units, HQI power floods, Vari*Lite 2000s and 3000s, Martin Atomic strobe units, Egg strobe units, Elation LED tri-colour pars and a Studio Due space flower.
Sound wise, kit included an Apple Mac Pro running Logic Studio software, d&b amplifiers and speakers, Audinate's Dante virtual soundcard and media networking protocol, MC2 TIBOBDX 8-channel Dante breakout boxes and MOTU I/O 24 channel ADI local monitoring.
Derek Allan, Chairman of Enchanted Forest and a director of HPCIC, said, "We are delighted with the success of this year's Enchanted Forest event. Northern Light has been the ideal technical partner. Working closely with our show designers Simon Wilkinson and R J McConnell, they have been instrumental in helping us to deliver a quality, well received show and our customers' satisfaction is testimony to both their technical artistry and their professionalism."
