ETC's new Cobalt desks have been impressing lighting designers and board operators
UK - In what looked to be one of the busiest ABTT shows to date, ETC staff were on hand to show visitors their most advanced lighting systems, as well as updates to the Source Four LED range.

ETC's new Cobalt desks have been impressing lighting designers and board operators with their quick and efficient operating style since they were launched at PLASA 2013. There are now two desks in the range: Cobalt 20 and Cobalt 10. Each has the same power, but the smaller Cobalt 10 has a reduced footprint, allowing it to fit into smaller venues.

The Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr fixture updates the hugely successful Source Four LED line. The addition of lime green emitters fills in gaps in the colour spectrum, creating the most effective LED light source yet. With twice the brightness of the original Source Four LED in 'colours that matter' like pinks and ambers, and pastel blues and lavenders, the Series 2 moves even closer to the usability of a traditional tungsten source for front lighting.

The Source Four Mini LED, meanwhile, brings low energy, high output lighting to smaller theatrical venues, as well as offices, museums and public spaces. Its long life 35,000 hour light engine means that it is ideal for hard to reach spaces.

The advanced power control which was originally only available for Sensor3 products is now available on ETC's budget-friendly SmartPack wall-mount racks. ThruPower solutions are available as a two-way dimmer/hot-power switch; or a three-way dimmer/hot-power switch/relay, depending on the user's needs.

ETC's universal Nomad controller and ETC Nomad Puck allow users to programme and play back Eos and Cobalt show files directly from a computer. Nomad Puck is a standalone mini computer with Nomad software, and features both video and USB ports; Nomad, meanwhile, plugs into a user's own PC or Mac. Either can be a primary controller, a backup or a client device - or work offline entirely. Because they work with both Eos and Cobalt software, it's like having two consoles packed into a single computer.
