To keep up with the demands of the fast-paced broadcast environment, they installed ETC lighting equipment.
In Ukraina's largest studio, the lighting staff rely on an ETC Ion control desk with a Universal Fader Wing. They had looked at other lighting desks, but decided on the Ion in order to future-proof their rig, as dynamic light becomes more prevalent in broadcast applications. They also liked the output count and the fact that the desk supports two external high resolution DVI monitors.
The three smaller Ukraina studios share an ETC SmartFade. The SmartFade's compact size makes it suitable for moving studio-to-studio to film different shows, and its user-friendly programming is a benefit for quick work during filming. The lighting systems across all four studios also include 16 ETC SmartBar dimmers, three SmartPack Wall Mount dimmers and dozens of Source Four luminaires fitted with gobos to provide backdrop lighting.
Lighting in Novy's new studios, meanwhile, is controlled by an ETC Element. The Element gives Novy's lighting personnel 250 channels of control to run a mixed rig and provides them with two monitors for easy content viewing. In addition to Element, Novy's lighting system has ETCNet3 I/O Gateways and Sensor+ dimming.
Both installations were conducted by ETC's official Ukrainian dealer serving the broadcast industry, Comtel.
