The company was also making its first joint appearance with transtechnik Lichtsysteme since the two came together in May last year. They were joined by representatives of their new dealer network in Germany - Lucifer GmbH (Wolfenbüttel), WIBA Theater- und Studioequipment GmbH (Cologne), Think Abele GmbH & Co KG (near Stuttgart) and Fischer Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH (Berlin). transtechnik reports increased sales, particularly in the field of lighting consoles, dimmers and network components, through this new network. The company also tells us its effectiveness as a systems provider has likewise increased thanks to the partnership with ETC, as it can now draw on a broader range of products and solutions for complex requirements in studios and theatres.
New from transtechnik was a software development in the form of the new MLC (Moving Light Controller), which is fitted to a slim additional console with a touchscreen and can be networked to all systems in the transtechnik Lichtsysteme NT range. Via its clear topographical representation of fixtures and graphical support for operating the units, it's possible to configure the devices by simply touching or clicking on them. Data storage and dimmer level output are handled directly by the lighting control system. The company also announced the inclusion of WYSIWYG and Show Designer visualization programs to both the transtechnik Lichtsysteme and Avab lighting control systems. The visualization tools are installed on a separate computer and can communicate in both directions with the lighting control console via Ethernet. Also on show, the Avab LightServer, a 2U 19" rack-mount unit with frontplate control keys which replaces a complete lighting control system.
