UK - Event Projection specialises in one-of-a-kind productions. From product launches and museum exhibits to music videos and corporate events, the AV and lighting hire company has a history of distinctly varied projects. So when they were looking to expand their lighting hire stock, they turned to entertainment lighting specialist White Light to find just the right equipment to suit their varied needs. The company chose the latest technology from Coemar - the LEDko P 3200K, available in the UK exclusively through White Light.

Event Projection is the first company of its kind in the UK to purchase the LEDko units, which use an innovative 120-Watt 'Multi-LEDs' source to produce an even, uniform beam, creating huge energy savings over traditional 575-Watt tungsten profiles. Now, several other companies have followed suit, purchasing the LEDko LED light engines for entertainment and event uses.

For Event Projection, firsts are nothing new. Managing director Craig Westwood explains, "We are a company that revolves around cutting edge equipment and the LEDko lights are nothing short of ground breaking. Our goal for every project is to make the whole experience better than the competition and these units are going to help us do just that."

As the company provides equipment for many projects all around the UK, they needed something that was not just energy-efficient, but would save time for crews setting up, save money on maintenance costs, and save space that would normally be required for dimmers.

Originally considering several options for lighting equipment, Westwood was impressed by the versatility of the Coemar LEDko profile fixtures and the ability to select interchangeable Profile, Fresnel, or PC optics. Combining LEDko fixtures combine LED energy efficiency with another key feature, extra smooth 16-bit dimming, the LEDko to achieve energy savings while also providing the look and feel of traditional profile units.

The new Coemar fixtures have a bright fixed colour temperature of 3200K, which is suited for use on several of Event Projection's upcoming small and medium sized conferences. With a lamp life of 50,000 hours, it's likely the LEDko profiles will see many more projects over several years before ever requiring any maintenance.
