Germany - In autumn 2007, the EVI Audio Vocational Schools Tour visited a number of vocational schools throughout Germany. Tour organizer Mario Klein of YourEvent drew a positive reaction from the tour and announced that the workshops would resume in 2008.

Events manager and sound specialist Mario Klein says, "Working day to day in the pro audio business, one is aware of a widespread knowledge deficit. With the EVI Audio-initiated Vocational Schools Tour, we have set about redressing the deficit, beginning where any such initiative should begin: with the technicians of tomorrow."

The workshops stick as closely as possible to practice within the industry. To make it easier for budding events and entertainment technicians to understand the principles underlying the technology, Klein travels with a truck packed with the most modern pro audio sound reinforcement systems, including a Dynacord VariLine, remote controlled and supervised Dynacord Power-H amplifiers, microphones from Electro-Voice, and Midas consoles plus all necessary cables and equalizers.

Klein adds, "The course of training to become an events and entertainment industry technician is a relatively new one, and without practice-related workshops very little progress can be made. This is the gap EVI Audio and I are seeking to fill."

The first dates for the Vocational Schools Tour 2008 have already been decided upon. Schools interested should contact EVI Audio at the address below:
