Emmy Award winning lighting designer, Bob Dickinson, used 12 of the new Falcons in clusters of three on custom field carts to augment the 12-minute spectacular. The Super Bowl is the nation's highest-rated TV programme. More than 141 million viewers watched last year's game in the U.S. alone. This year's Super Bowl will be broadcast to a potential worldwide audience of one billion people in more than 230 countries and territories. The Super Bowl Halftime Show is produced by Don Mischer Productions and White Cherry Productions.
The Falcon Beam, available in 3k to 8K, is a compact, indoor/outdoor, DMX controlled, xenon beam-light with color changer, shutter, pan-and-tilt movement, electronic and mechanical dimmer, zoom and integrated electronic power supply. The Falcon Beam is exceptionally sturdy and cost effective, providing ease of installation and long-term performance integrity. Designed for both floor-mounted and suspended/inverted use, the Falcon Beam is suitable for large events and a variety of architectural and entertainment applications, including use as a skylight or long-throw wash-light.
The Falcon Beam converts into a multi-beam "flower" or "night sky" break-up which Alpha One calls Falcon Flower. With the Flower kit option, the designer can achieve either effect using the same fixture body. The Flower front cover includes flower lens, colour-changer and shutter, and the internal reflector is easily exchanged with simple hand tools in less than 15 minutes.
The use of Falcons on the NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show follows on the heels of many applications in Europe and Asia, including the recent Asia Games 2006 in Qatar. Alpha One, of Oyten, Germany, designs, constructs and produces a range of professional high power lighting, specialising in Xenon, Metal Halide and LED products.
TMB is the worldwide distributor for Falcon and other Alpha One products.
