Making their PLASA Show début, FBT's EvoMaxX speakers feature new neodymium woofers, more powerful Class-D amplifiers with switch mode power supply, and a digital signal processor with four presets to provide quick equalisation contours.

Claiming "amazing value for money" for the product, FBT says the EvoMaxX's polypropylene cabinets feature a monitor taper design to suit them to front of house for a main sound system, as stage floor monitors or within permanent installations.

The series consists of four powered and three passive models which vary in woofer size but all feature a 1-inch B&C HF driver, apart from the EvoMaxX 9Sa powered 15-inch subwoofer.

The cabinets feature Class-D 400W LF and 100W HF power amplifiers with switch mode power supplies in a lightweight design with passively cooled circuitry. The filter algorithms include dynamic equalisation at low frequencies and advanced energy control which, according to the manufacturer, "allows high SPL while granting reliable and distortion-free audio reproduction". The digital limiter algorithms and increased amplifier power output are also designed to increase total SPL.

For the manufacturer, the major highlight is the new DSP which includes four factory presets to help the EvoMaxX range to accommodate a variety of applications. The presets include 'Original', which corresponds to the typical 'MaxX' sound for use in general applications; 'Floor' for use as a stage monitor; 'Vocal', which provides increased intelligibility for vocals and speech; and 'Warm' which reportedly gives a full-bodied response to the low-mid frequencies while treating high frequencies less aggressively.

The new SUBLine series, consisting at launch time of the compact SUBLine 15Sa 600W active band-pass subwoofer system, and the more powerful SUBLine 1200W active bass reflex subwoofer system.

Both come equipped with Class-D amplifiers with switch mode power supply, the SUBLine include digital signal processor with four presets, LPF crossover settings, delay lines, stereo XLR in/out, 0-180° phase reverse switch. Cabinet construction features Baltic birch plywood.
