EFX had placed its order months before, solely on the basis of a description of Helix. According to EFX managing director John Ramsay: "From previous experience we knew that KT would produce a benchmark product which would be a much sought-after unit and a step forward for us, so we had no hesitation in being the very first customer."
Klark Teknik international sales manager David Wiggins was on hand to thank EFX personally for their early adoption of the new device. "EFX have beaten everyone out of the blocks this time in demonstrating their ongoing commitment to KT, which is a great affirmation for us and the product. but others are not far behind. Given our expertise in the field, a new EQ from KT always creates a lot of interest, and I really believe that Helix is the most innovative EQ device we've ever produced. Although the official launch is not until PLASA, the international demand for Helix is growing and it'll be a while before we can even clear the back orders.
EFX will first be putting Helix through its paces at Scotland's answer to the Reading festival - Gig on the Green in Glasgow - over the August bank holiday weekend. The line-up includes Prodigy, Slipknot, the Strokes, the Offspring, Jane's Addiction and Pulp.
