Flare Audio provided a 13 box flown Triwave i10 FOH System coupled with their Quadhorn Q218 bass enclosure.
"The sound produced by the system sounded incredible and the entire system was extremely fast to setup and de-rig," comments Arron Smith, project manager for Flare Audio.
The complex stage monitoring system was made up of the entire range of Flare Audio products; Stealth Array was used as side-fills, M15 as stage monitors, the V65 and V12 bass enclosures fitted perfectly into some of the smaller spaces where larger speakers would have restricted the athletes movements.
Davies Roberts from Flare Audio comments, "We were very honoured to have been selected to provide our new British designed and manufactured professional speaker systems for this incredible opportunity. Coca Cola are renowned for their inspiring marketing campaigns, so for us to be involved with their global London 2012 Olympic campaign was the chance of a lifetime."
Sennheiser provided in excess of 100 microphones for the event, many from the latest Evolution Range and also provided both the radio systems, IEM's and handheld microphones, for Mark Ronson and Katy B. Digico's new SD9 digital mixing console was used as the main FOH. & Monitor control.
The film shoot saw international athletes take to the stage as Mark Ronson conducted them similar to an orchestra. Davies Roberts further comments, "Mark's work is an inspirational piece and is unique; his use of recording the athletes' sounds to form a track for London 2012 is very intelligent and goes to highlight what artists are capable of achieving.
"Our crews had the additional challenges of not only ensuring everything sounded amazing, they also had to ensure all cabling was carefully planned out so to not interfere with the athletes who were performing everywhere on the stage. Added to this, visual continuity had to be maintained with every mic position. It was an extremely challenging setup and we are very proud of our crew which was supplied through Purple Audio, they did an amazing job."
The official Coca Cola Press release states, "Inspired by the sounds, spirit and culture of the host city of London, Coca-Cola today unveiled its global integrated campaign for the London 2012 Olympic Games, Move to the Beat - aligned with the vision to make London 2012 a Games to inspire the youth of the world.
"The ambition of Move to the Beat is to bring teens closer to the Olympic Games and to sport in general. Harnessing teens' passion for music, and drawing inspiration from London 's musical heritage, the campaign fuses London music with Olympic sport to connect young people to London 2012."
