This is the second award for Flare, which is continuing to develop products attracting the attention of top figures in the music industry. Judges at the awards commented, "Lancing's Flare Audio is an innovative audio technology company run by a small and passionate team of people with big visions, and speakers that deliver an even bigger sound."
The host of the awards, Fred Dineage, explained, "The company began as an audio hire business in 2007. Passionate about sound quality and not content with the clarity and tourability of existing market leading products, Flare founder Davies Roberts decided to create his own loudspeaker designs. Designs that would deliver the purest sound possible, using his own patent-pending technologies."
Flare has since gone from strength to strength, with a variety of products built on the principle of 'Waveform Integrity': that the signal that goes into the loudspeaker is precisely replicated by the sound wave that comes out, creating a sound that is purer, clearer and less distorted, whatever the environment.
Over the last 12 months Flare products have provided the live sound at a wide array of high profile events, including The Redbull Stage at both the Notting Hill Carnival and Bestival 2014, Westlife's Shane Filan's first solo tour, and Richmond Theatre's upcoming pantomime Snow White, featuring Jerry Hall. The company has also won contracts to install systems in many venues, including the much heralded Olympic Cinema in Barnes, which re-opened as a two screen Dolby Atmos boutique cinema in 2013, and for the Main Hall in the Brighton Centre.
Davies sums up the company's ethos, saying: "At the heart of it all is the desire to deliver the best quality of sound possible to the audience. Whether in a theatre, concert, cinema, pub, restaurant or festival, the end result should be the same. We passionately believe that nothing should come between the performer and the audience and we are delighted that our efforts to innovate have been recognised in this way."
