A Finnish invention, FogScreen generates a thin, dry fog that delivers an ideal on-screen look for live events, film and television productions. It enables people to actually walk through an image projected in mid-air. FogScreen uses ordinary water and does not contain any chemicals. "We chose FogScreen for its quality and its proven advanced technical characteristics," explains N. John Smith, executive producer of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. "Having the engineering expertise of the FogScreen Inc team at our disposal was also a large part of our decision to go with their company."
"In any production, the set-up time is crucial. We needed to be able to shoot our scenes and have everything perform perfectly the first time," continues Smith. "FogScreen Inc shipped its product on time and the company also sent a technician to the set to ensure everything worked as planned and we were able to meet our filming schedule. That level of service is essential to our production."
Mika Koivula, CEO of FogScreen Inc adds: "During the last six months FogScreen has been integrated into many different entertainment concepts from hotels, attraction parks and nightclubs to a variety of high profile events. Stargate uses the FogScreen in an innovative way as a part of the TV production concept. This demonstrates a pioneering method of incorporating FogScreen technology into TV set design to produce never-before seen effects."
