The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 places an absolute duty on employers to provide suitable and sufficient training to all staff, for their health, safety and welfare.
Dave McDonald, principal consultant and head trainer at ForeFront says, "Health and Safety is evolving and moving away from traditional concepts taught by many in house teams and trainers. Many manual handling programmes are still delivered, using the outdated 'knees bent, back straight' approach, which has been superseded by more modern practices."
"At ForeFront, we have incorporated the latest developments in health & safety practice into hands-on courses tailored to each company we work with. Manual handling requirements vary tremendously between industries and we teach by applying the latest techniques to each company's individual working environment. Rather than concentrating entirely on theory, our trainers use practical, on-site examples and materials to ensure that participants on our courses gain relevant experience in best practice that they can use in their everyday working lives."
