The Netherlands - The new Formula Sound FF-6000 DJ mixer previewed at last year's PLASA show put into use at the prestigious Jimmy Woo club in Amsterdam recently. Formula Sound designed the FF-6000 mixer in conjunction with leading UK loudspeaker manufacturer Funktion-One and a panel of European DJs, and the Amsterdam event represented the mixer's official European launch.

The event, which was hosted by leading Dutch audio promotions company PB Audio, drew a huge crowd to the exclusive nightspot to see the new FF-6000 mixer put through its paces. Heading the list of artists who entertained the crowd on the night were DJ Roog (a.k.a. Hardsoul), and, underlining the versatility of the FF-6000 mixer, Hybrid Sessions, an act that mixes DJ skills with drum machines and a live sax player.

"We feel strongly that the Formula Sound FF-6000 is absolutely the best-sounding mixer there is," says Michel van de Beek of PB Audio. "We decided to host this event as a promotion for the FF-6000, because we feel that letting people experience the mixer's sound quality is far more important than just telling about them about it."

This was the first in a series of similar events - under the banner 'Delivering the Experience' - where PB Audio will demonstrate the abilities of the FF-6000 and give people who attend the opportunity to play with it themselves. Michel van de Beek is certain that their reaction will be the same as those of people who have already experienced the FF-6000. "The DJ's we have shown it to so far, including those who played at the Jimmy Woo event, have all really loved the sound of the FF-6000. They are amazed by how rich, full and detailed it is, and they are very, very happy with the handling," says Michel.

"We did A-B comparisons with other leading mixers at the Club Revolution in Rotterdam and the results were revealing. All mixers sounded good, but when we hooked up the Formula Sound it was like taking away a blanket that was in front of the speakers. Suddenly the system had more definition, greater detail and it sounded much, much warmer and with a lot more body than the other mixers had delivered."
