Xscape Castleford is due to open in early October of this year and is over 450,000sq.ft of an innovative mix of entertainment, leisure and retail. The total project cost just short of 70 million pounds. Within one state-of-the-art building, high adrenaline sports and leisure are successfully combined with retail outlets, restaurants and bars. Highlights will include a 170m real snow slope, two climbing walls, a 16m ice climbing wall, 20 lanes of bowling and a 14-screen multiplex.
Xscape Milton Keynes attracted over five million visitors in 2002 and the use of light and theming to create impact has been a key part of its success. The company has wide experience of technical project management for lighting and audiovisual projects. Its client base is broad and covers theatre, architecture, retailing and the entertainment industry. Fulcrum has been established for just three years and already its list of achievements is an impressive one: a recent high-profile project involved turning London's Albert Hall into a spectacular night-time 'ice palace' for the world premiere of the 20th Bond film, Die Another Day.
