White Light provided a complete lighting package for the tour, which was designed by LD Simon Tutchener. He described his approach to lighting the tour:
"I wanted to include a lot of colour and texture into the lighting. This was my third George Benson tour, so I was able to incorporate my previous experience and knowledge into this tour and have some fun with it."
The lighting rig is based around a core of Martin Professional fixtures - namely the MAC Viper Profile - while also incorporating conventional fixtures. In addition to fixtures, White Light provided followspots, control, power distribution, effects, and consumables to for the tour. "The MAC Viper Profiles were a great choice," Tutchener said. "They give a nice bright beam and are very responsive. They offered a lot of flexibility overall."
No stranger to White Light, Tutchener has recently worked with the company on several concert touring productions including the UK tours for Kenny G and The Seekers. "It's always great to work on a White Light tour," he said. "The White Light team has made the experience to be both easy and pleasant. Everything we had pre-ordered was always sitting waiting for us and even when we had to make last minute changes the WL reaction was always swift and cheerful."
