Carolin Kebekus has been touring German arenas with her new programme, Shesus

Germany - Carolin Kebekus – comedienne, singer (Beer Bitches) and actress – has been touring German arenas with her new programme, Shesus, since the beginning of September.

Contour Veranstaltungsservice from Bergisch Gladbach has for many years been the artist's tour supplier on behalf of Bühnenkunst Ulhaas & Co, and as such is responsible for the audio, lighting, rigging, logistics and, since 2024, also for LED walls and camera technology.

Contour has established itself as a respected provider in the comedy market and specialises in tailor-made solutions that meet the specific requirements of this industry. In order to place the artist as ‘Shesus’ in heavenly light, the Contour team is using, among other things, 50 GLP impression X5 Bar 1000, which were purchased specifically for the tour in summer. The lighting design for the show also comes from Contour.

“The Carolin Kebekus tour was just one of many reasons for the investment,” explains Contour managing director Stefan ‘Keve’ Kevenhörster. “We previously had other LED bars in stock that we wanted to replace with a more current and powerful model. The choice fell to impression X5 Bar 1000 because we are convinced that this fixture can, and will, continue the success story of the X4 Bar in the future.

“The investment is an example of our claim to always be at the cutting edge of technology and to rely on innovative solutions at an early stage – not technology for technology’s sake, but always with the needs of our customers in mind.”

Contour also attaches great importance to sustainability and has been one of the first event service providers in the industry to be certified as a ‘climate-neutral location’ since 2023. The entire transport fleet now consists of electric vehicles, and the company's own photovoltaic system already enables annual self-sufficiency of 57%. The company aims to be completely climate-neutral by 2025.

As part of the sustainability strategy, the inventory is continuously modernised in order to work in a resource-saving and efficient manner. The high durability of the GLP products used, for example, in Carolin Kebekus's Shesus show, is a decisive advantage and supports contour in achieving its sustainability goals.

In the live show, the impression X5 Bars take on several tasks. Some of the devices are used in a vertical installation position as alley lights.

The new stage programme is being performed on a main stage with a round stage in front. A traverse circle is installed above the round stage, on which additional X5 Bars are installed. From this position, the convertible LED bars shine either into the audience or downwards – temporarily immersing the artist in an almost ‘divine light’. The remaining devices are used on the floor as backlights.

With the 16 bit-controlled 205° tilt movement, the generous zoom range from a crisp 3.5° to a wide 60°, and as the X5 Series’ high-precision colour mixing, the X5 Bar 1000 ensures the necessary versatility of lighting in the show and thus helps to reduce the number of fixtures required. “And last but not least, the output is simply sensational,” adds Keve.
