"GoboMan's mission is simple. We wanted to make ordering gobos as painless and simple as possible. That along with great customer service and unbeatable prices, is our blueprint," said Steve Hoffman. "We felt that there was a need for an affordable and more accessible collection of gobos made up of the designs used in everyday theatrical lighting situations," he added.
GoboMan's unique attraction is that unlike the rest of the Gobo industry, customers will not be required to or order in minimums. To keep prices economical, the Hoffmans decided not to publish a printed catalogue, but instead offer a downloadable PDF version of their catalogue on their website, www.goboman.com.
GoboMan speacialises in "A" and "B" size gobos, and the website features a gobo crossover list referencing many of the top manufacturers gobo's and similar choices in the GoboMan line. GoboMan also offers custom gobos and other lighting expendables ranging from dichroic glass, black foil, colour gel packs to coloured sleeves for fluorescents.
Steve Hoffman was previously director of sales at Gamproducts where he worked for over a decade. While there, He was strategically involved with several large scale projects, both theatrical and architectural - from Lion King Tours worldwide to the Kmart Blue Light Special roll out involving more than two thousand Gobo Rotators, and many others.
Rebel L.Hoffman, also an industry veteran, was at GAM for seven years, working directly with designers to create special effect solutions. She also visited top schools and Universities teaching seminars and workshops on creating special effects lighting.
