The celebration began on 29 October with an official dinner banquet held at the Harbor View Hotel in Zhuhai. The official opening took place the next day with a VIP reception and tour of the new factory. General manager of the Zhuhai plant, Henrik Larsen, welcomed the guests followed by addresses from the Danish Ambassador to China, H.E. Ole Lønsmann Poulsen, and the Vice Mayor of Zhuhai Municipality, Zhou Benhui, after which the Ambassador and the Mayor exchanged gifts. Martin Professional CEO Kristian Kolding then addressed the crowd prior to an official ribbon cutting ceremony. The first results of the new facility's efforts, Martin's new Mania series of DJ effects, were then presented to guests before all sat down to a lunch banquet.
The Chinese manufacturing facility is located in the Nanping Industry Park in the city of Zhuhai, a Special Economic Zone in the southern part of the country. Established as an important part of Martin's strategy to maintain its competitiveness in the lower-priced lighting segments, the facility employs over 140 personnel and is geared toward the production of Martin's DJ range of lighting products.
