Along with his award, Stuttard received a Focusrite ISA One and an sE Electronics mic of his choice donated by two of this year's sponsors. Stuttard said, "It has been an absolutely amazing experience, and to learn from professionals as talented as Greg Haver and Dan Turner (USW) has been a phenomenal opportunity."
Now in its third consecutive year, the course steered 12 selected students from JAMES accredited courses through five days of recording on both analogue and digital systems. This year's tutor Greg Haver commented, "My week with the graduates surpassed all of my expectations. Working with such enthusiastic, well trained engineers and producers along with a wonderful song by Charlotte Campbell and great performances by the musicians made my time both enjoyable and inspirational."
The university students attending were from Lincoln, University of the West of England, Leeds Met, Anglia Ruskin, Buckinghamshire, Central Lancashire, Abertay, LIPA, Swansea Metropolitan, Bournemouth, University of the West of Scotland, Coventry and the University of South Wales.
Charlotte Campbell was this year's selected artist and songwriter. A graduate of the Brit School and current scholarship student at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (which lays claim to the first JAMES Performance Course Accreditation), Charlotte regularly performs in venues around North-West London and is a frequent busker on London's Southbank.
Funding for this year's course was donated by the Foundation and JAMES sponsors Sonic Distribution, Focusrite RedNet, PMI Audio and Source Distribution. Various pieces of equipment were also available for use on the course from all of the sponsors.
