Based on a circus theme, the ball was held in a stunning big top tent with a helter skelter built right into the twinkling roof. Magicians, 'birds of paradise', juggling stilt walkers, a carousel and the Honda Racing F1 Team simulator car added to the fun, while celebrity guests including Trinny Woodall, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Alex James (Blur), Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), Richard Hammond and James May added the glamour.
The complete sound system for the event supplied by Stage Electrics included the PA in the Big Top utilising Function1 and L-Acoustics equipment, background sound reinforcement in the bar and atmospheric music in the garden area. A Yamaha M7CL managed the FOH mix together with a Yamaha LS9 for the monitor mix. Sennheiser radio mics for auctioneer Jeremy Clarkson and comedians Brian Connolly and Rob Brydon were also supplied.
AV equipment included 42" Plasma screens and a Sanyo LCD Projector and screen used to playback video from the house together with the display of lots during the auction whilst the Top Gear presenter banged his gavel over items including the latest Audi TT Coupé and a pair of Orlando Bloom's pants which went for £500.
