The New Order tour kicks off in Paris this week
UK - Hawthorn has been awarded the contract to supply lighting and video equipment for the New Order European Tour, which kicks off in Paris on 4 November.

Hawthorn has strengthened its position in the concert tour sector this year after supplying equipment for a series of prestigious European wide arena and theatre shows for high-profile music artists including Mark Knopfler, Squeeze, The Charlatans, Steven Wilson and Status Quo.

For the New Order shows, the Concert Touring division in Hawthorn is drawing upon its extensive range of hire equipment, supplying lighting to specification, including Martin MAC Viper Profile and Wash DX, Clay Paky Sharpy, Clay Paky Stormy and Robe BMFL fixtures, as well as providing the video element, which includes Glux 10mm LED panels. Hawthorn is also supplying rigging and drapes.

Mick Freer, concert touring manager at Hawthorn, said, "New Order are a legendary band, so to have the opportunity to once again work with them is a huge privilege. There's a real buzz about this tour, and we can't wait to get our kit and people out on the road with the band and be part of delivering the incredible live show they're renowned for.

It's great to see growth in the number of concert tours we're working on, and we're looking forward to building on this year's success and bolstering this area of our business. We have the experience, expertise and crucially, the latest in lighting, video, sound and staging technologies to provide a wide range of support for live performance, whether it's for series of intimate acoustic gigs or an arena tour.

"Production managers and lighting designers in particular, have recognised our ability to support them and invest in the technology to deliver the visual elements of the design. Consequently, this has resulted in interest from an array of new clients."

In recognition of its growing market share in the touring and performance sector, Hawthorn has made major investment in new equipment, as well as strengthening its team dedicated to music and live shows.
