Flares are back in at Hawthorn Theatrical.
UK - Hawthorn Theatrical hosted over 100 event professionals at its Leicester head office for an indoor pyrotechnics workshop this April. The workshops, presented in conjunction with Hawthorns' supplier Le Maitre Pyrotechnics and Special Effects, were a continuation of Hawthorns' policy of helping its clients get the most out of their services and ensuring health and safety issues are covered properly.

Le Maitre's Steven Ramos showcased the creative possibilities of a range of indoor pyrotechnics, explaining the applications and correct usage of each effect. Ramos dispelled several preconceptions about letting pyrotechnics off indoors. His interactive talk included getting the delegates holding a lit flair - which goes against the advice we have been given since our childhoods - but which highlighted the importance of selecting the correct specialist pyrotechnic material.

One of the invited guests, Wayne Jackson of East Midlands Conference commented: "We are often asked by clients for pyro at our venue, so I took two members of our team with me. It was great to see the range of products first-hand and be shown how they should be used correctly by a professional. We had a great day."

Hawthorn Theatrical has built its strong reputation (with an impressive portfolio of client and events) on the strength of delivering advice and services on a wide range of technical production solutions. Martin Hawthorn said: "With lights and sound at the core of Hawthorn's expertise, days such as this open day allow a useful dialogue to help our clients understand the possibilities of our other services and underline our ongoing commitment to health and safety."
