In addition to large church and theatre installations, Hawthorns have been successful in securing contracts for the Government initiative of City Academies. Having already done the installations of lighting, sound and other theatre equipment at Lambeth and Northampton Academies, it has just completed the Marlow Academy and is currently working at the Reading and Paddington Academies. They are due to start a further three Academies in the New Year. Tony Blair announced last week that the government is to double its initiative to 400 Academies by the end of the decade.
Tracey Hughes, a consultant to one of the key suppliers on the Academy build programme says: "We have worked with Hawthorns on two Academy builds now with further in the pipeline, I can honestly say that they are a pleasure to work with, providing both a cost-effective solution and the highest level of professionalism in the services they provide."
Mark Ridler of BDP Lighting, theatre consultant for the Marlow Academy installation says: "Hawthorns did a great job for me at Marlow; I look forward to the opportunity of working with them again."
Installations manager at Hawthorns, Simon Ling says: "We are delighted with the way our installations business has grown and we are continuing to build the best team in the industry to meet the demand."
Hawthorns has recently launched its new website. "Since the release of our on line hire catalogue and quotation system we have seen a significant increase of traffic to our website," said Simon Wood, general manager of Hawthorns. "We have taken on board feedback from our customers and prospective clients alike regarding the contents of the website and we have given it a much brighter and fresher look. The website aims to show the wide array of products and services that Hawthorns provide. The on line hire facility has been a great success and now the other areas of our business are equally demonstrated."
