Hawthorn were also involved in Walk the Walk's new challenge this year, the Celebrity SunWalk in Southampton, created to celebrate the naming and launch of the new Celebrity Eclipse cruise ship.
For the two MoonWalks involving nearly 30,000 'MoonWalkers', Hawthorns provided lighting, sound, staging, rigging, power distribution and for the first year Video which was installed into De Boer's massive 'pink palace', a 150m x 60m Galaxy structure.
Three artics of lighting, sound, rigging, power distro, video and site services made their way to Hyde Park for the main structure and ancillary marquees, including six main generators and over 10 miles of cable to supply the marquees, 300 toilets and numerous catering facilities with power.
Hawthorns supplied all the video which consisted of a three camera rig which provided live relay on to the 2 x 20ft wide back projection screens. Four Christie 20ks double stacked provided the projection. The video was also transmitted around the site to three of the structures using Cat 5 distribution system so volunteers, Walk the Walk staff and VIPs could view what was going on in the main structure.
Hawthorns MD, Martin Hawthorn commented, "This is a charitable cause very close to my heart and I am delighted that Hawthorns continue to both support and supply these five events as the walks grow in size and new locations are added."
