The Studio Command from HES.
USA - Entertainment lighting manufacturer High End Systems Inc. (HES) is now shipping the new Studio Command automated wash luminaire, which debuted at PLASA 2005. Studio Command is now the third automated wash fixture in the HES family.

Richard Belliveau, HES chief technology officer, says: "We designed the Studio Command to provide discerning lighting designers with a new look for their stage. The lenticular array optical system coupled with innovative aesthetics provides a dynamic eye-catching look. These new features combined with a high light output and a large cross-sectional output beam is bound to turn some heads on new shows."

Studio Command's lenticular array optical system is claimed to greatly enhance the homogeneity of the projected light. The optical head is compact and light in weight, while still offering a large diameter exiting beam. The long-life MSR 700 lamp emitting 55,000 lumens (at 5900°K) is shipped as standard, providing deep reds. Alternatively the MSR 700/2 lamp emitting 55,000 lumens (at 7200K) can also be fitted in the field. The CMY dichroic color-mixing system provides rapid and quiet colour changes, and the mechanical douser provides a smooth fade to black.

The moving yoke fixture features an adjustable field angle from 18 to 32 degrees. It also offers a variable mechanical and electronic strobe, with extra punch provided by the Light Burst effect.

The luminaire is controlled by DMX, using 14 channels in standard protocol, with on-board programming control, playback and fixture talkback. Studio Command's electronic ballast operates on a range of voltages from 100V 50Hz to 230V 60Hz and is ETL, UL and CE compliant. Its dimensions are 14 x 21.4 x 21 inches (353 x 544 x 526mm). Studio Command weighs 55 pounds/25 kilograms, and has a small footprint.
