Germany - ProLight&Sound 2003: High End Systems & Flying Pig Systems were on the stand of German distributor Arcus Lighting, showing an array of new products including High End's Studio Beam CTO and Trackspot 2, both of which debuted at LDI 2002 in Las Vegas. Studio Beam CTO is a new version of the popular Studio Beam: a high-output incandescent lamp source (3200K colour temperature) means that the lamp power supply and fans are not required, making the fixture far quieter and ideal for use in theatres and TV studios. Trackspot 2 builds on the features of the original, but now offers rotating gobos and two prisms for improved beam effects. It also features an MSD 250W lamp source with a 2,000 hour lamp life. Like its predecessor, Trackspot 2 will also be an affordable, compact fixture for the nightclub/corporate/small theatre market.

The Wholehog III was also being demonstrated by the Flying Pig team, who were previewing the link-up with Cast Software's WYSIWYG visualization package, which connects to the Hog III via Ethernet. Designed to work with the Hog III, 'WYSIWYG Perform - Console Edition' is a feature-rich version of the well-known visualization tool, which includes CAD, data management and rendering facilities. Where additional visualization channels are required, the supplied dongle can be easily upgraded to another level of WYSIWYG Perform. A number of other new developments are in the pipeline for the Hog III - watch this space.
