"The dramatic reduction in throw distance with the new FL-900 lens transforms the installability of the 9000 Series and opens up a wide range of new application scenarios for this class of projector including digital signage and on-stage use," said Axel Kutschke, senior manager, presentation products for Hitachi Digital Media Group. "By bringing this capability to the Installation projector category Hitachi is combining the bright, vivid colours, and 24x7 usage of the professional models with the flexibility of our Ultra Short Throw models."
The collection of eight lenses now offers throw distances of 19m down to just 0.83m from lens to screen for a 100" screen with a widescreen CP-WU9410, ensuring that customers have a solution to meet wide range of installation environments. The rear facing lens means that the projector can be mounted as close as 0.11m from the projection surface with a horizontal separation of only 0.55m.
Previewed recently at ISE, the new lens / projector combination is suited to demanding roles involving large, bright screens with limited options for projector mounting. Examples include conferences and exhibitions or digital signage in large public areas ranging from transport venues to museums.
