Offering a selection of the latest additions to the JHS product catalogue, the event presented a number of special offers plus the chance to mix business and fun with shuttle helicopter flights around the local countryside. For those seeking more terrain-based thrills, an onsite simulator offered a variety of high-speed virtual experiences, plus the chance to unwind with some good food and drink.
HK Audio's fully-rigged Cohedra (Coherent Dynamic Response Array) system was certainly an attention-grabber both visually and aurally: a strong crosswind had little or no effect on the system's consistent definition and linearity of delivery, say JHS, even to those listeners standing some distance away.
A number of HK systems were dotted around the JHS Event site to demonstrate their various abilities. No less than seven very different types of acts and performers graced the main stage on the opening Sunday of the show, playing through a 2.4kW Actor self-powered active system. Meanwhile, say JHS, 2kW Lucas 2000 subwoofer plus two satellites provided a standby performing sound system in the busy refreshment marquee. The event also provided an opportunity for trade visitors - and the pro audio press - to speak to representatives from HK Audio, including Christian Stumpp and Andreas Mayerl from HK's international sales and JHS Pro Audio sales manager, Neville Raine.
Elsewhere on the JHS site, the dedicated HK Audio demo theatre featured many pro audio systems and components from the HK catalogue, including the new D.E.A.CON six-box system, designed to sit in the range between Actor and Projector, the high-end active systems.
Also showing was HK Audio's Installation Line, which has recently made its mark in a number of high profile projects, including a number of Sports Cafe launches across the country. Designed for all kinds of indoor installations, the Installation Line features a total of eight different full-range and/or mid-high cabinets and four complementary subs.
However it was the main stage that provided much of the pro audio action at Event 2004, good weather again allowed the full rota of acts to perform throughout the show's four-day duration, helping to further consolidate the JHS Event as a must-attend show again next year.
