Elstree Light & Power Cable 3-tier tester for the Mains Department
UK - Data Strategy's Power-Check RCD test software has received an Honourable Mention at PLASA London's 2014 Innovation Awards. Described as a real and worthwhile safety contribution to the production rental industry, the software runs and logs precision tests by the Out Board PAT4 Test Processor's new RCD-T plug-in.

In the words of the PLASA Innovation Awards Judges Panel: "Power-Check is not a sexy product but it's one which ensures the safety of everything that is connected to mains power. Just like the crew who makes a show happen, it's easy to overlook the importance of these behind-the-scenes products. We at PLASA wish to recognize those who toil to ensure the safety of our work force."

Power-Check is an add-on for Data Strategy's market-leading QC-Check PAT & Cable Test automation and logging software. It generates and logs comprehensive safety tests for all elements of power distribution equipment that contains RCD's. Out Board's RCD-T module, which is retrofittable into new and existing the PAT-4 Test Processors, carries out the testing including fundamental BS7671 requirements of Non-tripping, Tripping, 5xNominal Rating and Ramp (Nuisance) tests. All results are automatically recorded and can be used to produce certification reports for individual distro assets and specific jobs.

In addition, an earth bond test and a FOP (Functional, Operation & Polarity) check can be carried out in conjunction with the RCD test, confirming and logging that the device under test is fit for purpose.

Data Strategy's QC-Check automation and logging software and Out Board's PAT-4/CAB-5 PAT and Cable Test Processors are the fourth generation culmination of a longstanding joint marketing and development program.

Data Strategy director Iain Roche remarks, "The evolution of QC-Check and PAT4/CAB5 have always been market-driven, and Power-Check fulfils a vital need requested by many current and potential customers; to verify and log one of the most safety-critical elements of any tour production system or site installation - the power distro."
