Imagination will be responsible for ensuring brand consistency, design and content management and the implementation of all Shell exhibitions and trade shows worldwide.
The appointment is a significant win for Imagination, which operates a network of 10 offices worldwide. It has delivered the global autoshow programme for Ford Motor Company since 1999.
Founder and CEO of Imagination Gary Withers said: "This is a very important client for us to secure. We look forward to supporting Shell worldwide, drawing on the resources of our network to deliver a wide range of communication."
Danny Van Otterdyk, Shell's manager for Visual Media, added: "We are absolutely delighted to be working with Imagination. Their proposal was highly innovative and distinctive. Their experience in managing global programmes made Imagination the ideal partner to help Shell leapfrog the competition in this critical area of communication activity."
Richard Foulkes, Imagination global account director for Shell said: "This was a real team effort and we are all very enthusiastic about the opportunity of working alongside one of the world's greatest brands. We look forward to developing this relationship, over time."
The pitch called for an extended Imagination team of over 30 people, drawn from a variety of offices, including London, Hong Kong and New York.
