InfoComm 2018: Stardraw Design 7.3 unveiled
- Details
Boasting a raft of new features and significant performance enhancements, SD7.3 will be available for download from the Stardraw.com website in June. All new features are based on user feedback and requests from Stardraw’s extensive user base that now covers 83 countries worldwide. One of the most significant enhancements is a move to a new, 64-bit platform to enable handling of the largest of projects with ease. The new 64-bit architecture is able to manage huge and multiple imported DWG files better than ever before, as well as other resource-intensive non-native data formats including PDF, DXF and image files (PNG, JPG, etc.)
Another popular enhancement is the new Feathering feature, sometimes called ‘Continuations’ or ‘Fly-offs’, which provides a graphical representation to indicate where a cable has come from, and is going to, in the event that it spans separate drawings or is noncontiguous in the same drawing. Crucially, it consolidates the two Cable objects into one ‘physical’ cable in the Cable Schedule to ensure that they aren’t double-counted in the project.
Other new features include monochrome import for even clearer drawings, high-resolution rendering and more.
“We’re now into our seventh generation of design/documentation software applications for AV integration, and each successive version improves on performance, feature set, ease of use and flexibility,” said Stardraw CEO, Rob Robinson. “The latest version has made a big leap by employing 64-bit architecture which means it can handle massive project files with ease, and we’ve also made improvements in the way in which we manipulate data, especially from external sources. Our Symbols Library is unrivalled in the industry with over 100,000 products from almost 900 manufacturers. The result is an immensely powerful tool for systems integrators that is still incredibly easy to use but is now even more flexible, delivering greater time-saving, increased productivity and, ultimately, increased profits.”
