USA - The sounds of an organ can make an inspiring, emotional impact on congregations during church services, especially in spaces where all the acoustics have been factored in and optimised. Church Organ Works has perfected this. Its mission is to provide the most exceptional organ sound possible for each house of worship, filling the church with the stirring music that great organs are designed to deliver, from the altar all the way to the very back of the sanctuary. To optimise the instruments’ powerful sound, Church Organ Works relies on Ashly Audio amplifiers.
Dan Bashor, CEO of Church Organ Works, has counted on Ashly Audio’s versatile amplifiers for 15 years. Available in various wattages of 250, 500, 800, 1500 and larger, Bashor says the amplifiers are well suited for practically all of the installation challenges he has faced.

In the same installation, the over-stage pipes were also renewed with a mixture of manual and electronic winched bars, and the process also finally saw the replacement of two heritage Robe Club Spots

UK - Guildhall School of Music & Drama has confirmed the award of over £900,000 from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) to develop a new research facility for Extended Reality (XR) production arts. The research into this technology will help create conceptual environments for training performers, whether that be recreating opera houses for metaverse performances, or developing choreogr

China - Macau TDM (Teledifusão de Macau) provides public broadcasting news services in this special administrative region (SAR) of greater China. Running five digital terrestrial television channels, a satellite television channel and two radio channels, it has extended its HD network with the addition of four BroaMan Mux22 interfaces, provided by Hong Kong-based system integrators, ProHarmony Technology (PHT).
Macau itself is situated on China’s southern coast, across the Pearl River Delta from Hong Kong, and the new installation is specifically to service requirements at their Macau HQ. PHT is a long-term service partner of the broadcasters, having worked with Macau TDM over the past 10 years; the latest provision of Mux22s expands the existing system, giving them six in total.

USA - When audio-visual specialists ITI Systems installed a sound system at the new B/SPOKE Studio in South Boston, MA recently, it was their fourth such integration for founder Mark Partin’s cycling concept - and all four feature Martin Audio CDDs and subwoofers.
The Beltsville, MD-based integrators originally came onto Partin’s radar after he visited a club in New York that they had fitted out and was impressed with the sound quality. He knew what he wanted when it came to equipping his new boutique fitness studio concept, specialising in Indoor Cycling, Strength, and YOGA classes.
“ITI has now had the privilege of installing Martin Audio at all four locations over the past nine years, starting with B/SPOKE Downtown,” said system designer and project manager, Eugene Yi. Once again, he specified a combination of Martin Audio mission-critical solutions, focusi

Australia - When GTV9 Melbourne decided to update its lighting, it turned to Prolights, encouraged by the important presence of suppliers but also by the reputation of the brand. Having a fixture they could add more too, or replace in a short lead time, from any of the main Melbourne rental houses was a major consideration with the purchase.
The resulting package comprises: 22 EclFresnel TW ,11 EclFresnel 2KTW, 22 EclPanel TWC, 18 EclPanel TWCJr and 13 EclProfile CT+.
Since the installation, the studio has halved the fixture count in the rig from the old tungsten amount and there has been considerable savings in power. “Our staff have even commented on how cool the studios are these days,” remarked Daniel Saveski, senior lighting director at GTV9. “The best thing about LEDs is once the colour temperature is set there is no colour shift when lowering levels. USA - Step into Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church of Lebanon, Kentucky, on any given Sunday as the music and ministry are brought clearly and vividly to life thanks to a recent audio transformation from JCA Media and LEA Professional amplifiers.
This modest town, which sits directly in the centre of the Bluegrass State, is no stranger to exceptional music. Lebanon was an entertainment hotspot for three decades in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, hosting classic musicians like Chuck Berry, B.B. King, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Jerry Lee Lewis at local clubs. So, it’s no wonder that great acoustics are important to the culture and history of this small town. The nearly 150-year-old Muldraugh Hill is among many Baptist and other denominational churches in the area that are transforming the dynamic of their services through audio, video, and lighting.

UK - Maidstone's MuMu nightclub recently underwent a major refurbishment after a significant fire in 2021. The nightclub had to shut down for several months to carry out repairs and refurbishment. However, with the recent installation of a Martin Audio stereo monitoring solution by Middlesex Sound and Lighting, the lounge and bar is now back and ready to deliver.
The venue, which includes a traditional Irish pub, a speakeasy, a hidden laundromat room, an eatery and restaurant, a newly refurbished cabaret bar, and a basement club area, presented a challenging opportunity for the team at Middlesex Sound and Lighting.
"The whole space is like a labyrinth,” recalls Darrel Olivier, director of Middlesex Sound and Lighting. “The main room is accessed via a small corridor which leads upstairs and along the way, there are these washing machines with quirky content displaye

Germany - Located in the southern town of Leonberg, Bowl & Co takes bowling to a new level. Visitors can enjoy a choice of 18 lanes, with Spark technology on eight lanes enabling the projection of custom photographs, game results and stats directly onto the lane, or play enhanced games with targets displayed directly on the tracks. And when the bowling is over, then it’s time to relax in the bar and restaurant, play darts or billiards, or perhaps take in a movie at the on-site IMAX cinema.
Central to the delivery of the visitor experience is a Nexo ID Series sound system installed by local audio-visual technology specialists Fein Media. Designed in collaboration with the Nexo Engineering Support team, the system provides the power and headroom to go way beyond background music and announcements, creating a party atmosphere in the venue, particularly on the regular DJ n

USA - Bringing together faith, family and friends, the Golden Isles Church of God serves the greater community of Brunswick, Georgia, and the outlying barrier islands. Spanish explorers seeking gold descended upon the territory more than 400 years ago, only to find golden isles rather than gold, hence the region’s name.
The traditional styling of the church’s mid-sized sanctuary - with hardwood pews, high lofty ceilings and a raised central dais - hampered the speech intelligibility of events and services. To better serve the congregation’s evolving worship needs, the church decided to modernise the sanctuary’s decor and functionality. Renkus-Heinz’s expertise in taming acoustically challenging spaces greatly benefitted the retrofit.
The church turned to Brian Bush, co-owner of All Seasons Audio, to redesign and retrofit the sanctuary’s audio system. All S

USA - Alexander Lehman and the design team at Connection Pointe Christian Church in Brownsburg, IN deployed the “art of asymmetry” to give the church a new, captivating lighting design this spring, much to the delight of worshippers.
“As we headed into spring and summer, we wanted to create a fresh environment on stage,” said Lehman, the church’s lighting designer. “Our previous stage rig had been up since December of 2022, so we felt it was time to give our space something new. To do this, we wanted to try something fresh and different. This led us to the asymmetrical design.
“We know how to do beautiful symmetrical clean looks,” continued Lehman. “We also realised that it would be more challenging to do an asymmetrical design that felt purposeful and intentional. So, we embraced this challenge; our goal was to bring something different to the world

Japan - The Tsukuba Capio complex in Japan’s Tsukuba city, Ibaragi, incorporates indoor sports halls, theatres and meeting rooms, while Tsukuba itself is renowned for being a scientific city of the future city. Opened in July 1996, Capio Hall has provided an authentic atmosphere for theatre and dance, with its distinctive seat arrangement and high-quality stage facilities.
Capio Hall recently underwent a major sound system overhaul, and new rigs were introduced, including the new Martin Audio Torus as the main PA.
Nobuhito Endo, technical manager of rental company Sigma Communications, who support the theatre, set out the reason for the upgrade and his choice of Torus.
“Originally, the proscenium centre loudspeakers were exposed, and a cluster of several point-source systems was flown from the grid. Naturally, we considered utilising a line array replacement

Singapore - The 45-year old Lighthouse Evangelism in Singapore has undergone a major refurbishment of its two halls which, set over two campuses at Woodlands and Tampines, have a combined capacity of 3,500 people.
A complete revamp of the entire church stage, LED wall and lighting design was called for, with the latter being undertaken by well-known lighting designer, Michael Chan of Lighting Insomnia, for which he chose 14 laser-sourced Ayrton Cobra, eight Ayrton Khamsin TC profiles and nine Ayrton Zonda 9 Wash fixtures. These were supplied by Total Solution Marketing and installed by systems integrator Soundsmith Solutions.
“I am always happy to work with a good lighting manufacturer,” says Mr Chan who explains why he chose to work with Ayrton fixtures to enhance the weekly services of praise and worship.

China - Nantong Grand Theatre is a new cultural and arts centre at the centre of the city of Nantong in China’s Jiangsu Province. It is the last masterpiece to be designed by the late master architect Paul Andreu whose other designs include the National Centre for Performing Arts in Beijing, and the Grand Arche at La Défense in Paris.
Located on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, the complex houses five performances spaces: the 1532-seat Opera Hall, the 1185-seat Concert Hall, a 599-capacity Drama Hall, a 250-seat Children’s Theatre and a multipurpose Function Hall.
Six Robert Juliat followspots were supplied to this building by Hangzhou YiDaShi Technology Development Co and installed in the two largest venues. Four Aramis 2500W HMI followspots were delivered to the Opera House and two 1800W HMI Victor followspots to the Concert Hall.

UK - Manchester Opera House has recently replaced its in-house followspots by purchasing two Robert Juliat Arthur LT 800W LED followspots from White Light.
Arthur LT is a long-throw version of the original Arthur followspot with a narrower beam (4°-10° zoom range) and an output that exceeds that of an HMI 2500W followspot. It has an enhanced light quality with a CRI >94 and a sound level that is quieter than any of its discharge rivals, all of which helps to ensure Arthur LT is as suitable for theatres as for concerts or big arenas.
The Arthur LT units replaced Manchester Opera House’s aging Cyrano followspots which had given a good 15 years of service at the busy venue.
White Light’s business development manager, Jonathan Haynes, first introduced Arthur LT to Stuart Graham, head of technical operations at the Ambassador’s Theatre Group, owners of Manc

UAE - Powersoft’s fixed-installation amplifiers and Dynamic Music Distribution system enhance the audio experience at a newly refurbished beachfront venue in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Umm Al Quwain is the UAE’s second smallest emirate, and off the tourist trail compared to its bigger brothers, Dubai and Abu Dhabi; home to sandy beaches and mangrove forests, it is often described as the hidden gem of the UAE. Lumi Beach, located at Umm Al Quwain Beach Hotel & Resort, is the emirate’s premier beach destination.
The venue also hosts DJ sets and sports competitions, as well as weddings and other private events.
Seeking to upgrade the beachfront DJ area, Lumi Beach employed Dubai-based Pro Lab to design a new house system that would provide a high-quality audio backbone for both daily use and the club’s roster of live events.

Australia - Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul is no stranger to change. On Saturday December 18, 1965, when the curtain went down on a double billing featuring Stephen Boyd in Genghis Khan and Carl Gonzales in The Little Ones, the classic venue, then known as the King’s Theatre, closed its doors after more than 40 years as the main cinema in this seaside village located 60km south of Sydney.
Less than three years after the theatre stopped showing films, all seats were removed, a concrete floor was laid in the stalls area, and the venue was reborn as Skateland. In 2007, long after its days as a roller rink had ended, the venerable building began anew again as a multi-purpose live performance venue.
Today, as Anita’s Theatre, the classic-looking site is continuing its tradition of change, having recently become Live Nation’s first regional live music venu

UK - London’s Southwark Playhouse has opened its new theatre space: Southwark Playhouse Elephant. Situated in Elephant and Castle, the 310-seat building is the sister venue of Southwark Playhouse Borough and aims to provide world-class theatre as well as serve the local community.
As with any new theatre, the space had to be transformed from an empty building into a fully functioning performance venue. This involved acquiring the latest theatre lighting technology – something which White Light (WL) was called on to provide.
Prior to the opening of the Elephant space, Southwark Playhouse found itself in temporary venues, which meant always having to adapt to both the budgets and physical restraints of a space. As such, by having a new, permanent home, this meant they could finally implement the technical infrastructure that they always wanted.

UK - Event venue ExCeL London has signed a new contract with audio-visual and entertainment technology company, Anna Valley. The new deal not only extends the organisations’ preferred partnership agreement, but also grants Anna Valley exclusive AV provider status in key parts of the venue - a move designed to strengthen ExCeL’s global congress and conference offering.
Anna Valley was first appointed as ExCeL’s preferred AV provider in December 2020. Despite the impact of the COVID pandemic on the industry at the time, the AV company invested in the staff, infrastructure and support network necessary to provide a hybrid event solution at ExCeL, and to support the return to live events over the following months. Since then, Anna Valley has delivered several international conferences and congresses at ExCeL.
“Over the last two years Anna Valley has demonstrated o
