Void Acoustics produces ‘perfect’ sound for Helm Art Gallery
- Details
Helm Gallery is co-owned by entrepreneur Luke Davis and art curator Eden Maseyk, who have realised their creative vision across 7,000 square feet set across two floors. This multi-purpose, inclusive arts space hosts unique art events; ‘sip and paint’ classes; and exclusive exhibitions from local and worldwide artists, as well as offering a dynamic social space where a resident DJ performs every weekend.
Marquee AV were appointed to provide a stylish, high end music system which would enhance, but not detract from, the key focus of the space - the art adorning the walls. The gallery has been designed as a crisp, bright, modern white space with all fixtures and fittings blending invisibly into the surround, allowing the art to ‘pop’ from their settings. It was evident to Marquee AV that a Void Acoustics deployment would answer the brief perfectly, not only with the exceptional sonic quality of the speakers, but with the capability to provide distinctive white fibreglass cases which would blend seamlessly into the gallery surrounds. The sound system also needed to be versatile, helping to create the perfect ambiance for day or nighttime events, including exhibitions and parties.
“Void Acoustics were the perfect fit for the aesthetic and atmosphere of this great new art gallery,” explains Mark Brown, managing director of Marquee AV. “Void’s ultra-compact Cyclone 4s were ideal for the architectural design of the space, as well as producing fantastic sound quality. We were so pleased to have the opportunity to work on this unique location.”
A cleverly designed ‘hybrid’ bar offers cocktails and craft beers for visitors and art collectors to enjoy whilst appreciating the art around them as well as the quality audio emanating from the Void system. With a clear project specification, the installation was a smooth and efficient process and the team ensured that the Cyclone 4s were positioned to offer excellent sound distribution, whilst also being visually appealing to match the stylish, modern architecture of the space. The punchy, design-led Cyclone speakers are supported by Venu 112 V2 subwoofers for extra bass output, all set into the walls to continue the sleek layout of the gallery as desired by the client.
“The addition of audio helps to bring the art, and our vision for Helm Gallery to life,” explains Eden Maseyk, co-founder, MD and curator of Helm Gallery. “The team at Marquee AV were incredible and the sound system they have installed sounds beautiful - it sets the tone perfectly for our gallery. For our evening events, the audio helps elevate the experience for our guests - the Void speakers really are perfect.”
