UK - IPS (Impact Production Services) has announced the addition of the Martin MAC Viper XIP to its lighting rental stock. In response to strong customer demand, this latest addition to the Martin lineup introduces an LED source, IP-rated version of the classic Viper fixture family, enhancing all the best attributes of previous models.
Included as part of IPS’s Technical Production and Dry Hire service, the addition of the MAC Viper XIP expands IPS’s inventory, providing event professionals with access to advanced lighting technology suitable for a variety of applications.
IPS head of lighting, Davis Cmoch, highlighted the technical capabilities of the new fixture stating: “The new Viper XIP boasts Framing Shutters as standard, a key feature that previously set the Performance fixture apart from the Profile version. Additionally, its impressive 5.7-degree to 54-degree beam angle nearly covers the entire range of the previous Profile and Wash fixtures. The XIP even provides a tighter 4-degree spot at the narrow end of the zoom while only being 5 degrees narrower at its widest compared to the Wash DX, making it an incredibly versatile fixture.”
Another notable improvement is the reduced weight of the MAC Viper XIP compared to its predecessors. Coupled with its IP54 rating for indoor and outdoor use, the fixture aligns seamlessly with IPS’s existing inventory. The fixture’s compatibility with the Martin P3 mapping protocol further expands its creative potential, allowing for advanced control over colour and intensity. Standard RDM-enabled five-pin DMX control is available, along with Art-Net and sACN support via EtherCON network connections. Power distribution is made easy with TRUE1 inlet and outlet connectors.
“The MAC Viper Profile, Performance, and Wash DX had been a staple of our larger format moving head lighting fixture inventory; over the years we’ve had literally hundreds of them,” said Karl Saunders, managing director at IPS. “With a brighter output, higher CRI, and lower power consumption, all presented in a package that is now suitable for outdoor use, the new MAC Viper XIP was a great choice for us.”
The MAC Viper XIP is now available for hire from IPS, supplied in single or paired cases, alongside an extensive range of lighting fixtures, control equipment, and rigging hardware.
IPS hire manager Rory Bowerman commented: “From the moment I first saw the specs of these fixtures last year, they seemed like a natural fit for our hire range. We have already received a lot of enquiries from our customers about the MAC Viper XIP, so I’m very excited to have them available for rental.”
