The NSDF12 - ISDF - being presented in conjunction with Sheffield Theatres, RSC, LIFT, The Old Vic Tunnels and Menier Chocolate Factory - will feature a nine-day celebration of young people's theatre featuring the best of British work alongside exceptional student productions from across the world.
The Festival is an opportunity for young people to come together and present their work on the world's stage to an international audience of theatregoers, industry experts and peers. Participants don't have to be studying drama to be a part of it - they just have to enjoy it and want to watch it and make it.
NSDF12 - ISDF will feature over 100 performances of 20 international shows, 200 workshops, discussions, master classes and late night professional performances in venues across Sheffield. It will bring together emerging artists and practitioners alongside an international elite of professionals spanning every theatrical discipline.
If you know of young people aged 16-25 involved with a theatrical production that will take place between now and 8 March 2012 and think it deserves to be part of NSDF12 - ISDF, then please make them aware of this opportunity. Applications are hosted at www.ideastap.com/nsdf. The deadline for non-UK entries is 23 September 2011 and the deadline for UK entries is 9 March 2012. Applications are accepted from all forms of live theatre performance including classical and modern drama, new writing, dance, mime, physical theatre, music theatre, site-specific work, comedy, clowning and devised work.
Additionally, NSDF12 - ISDF is seeking the support of PLASA Members and looking for companies within the industry to offer contributions either through workshops, kit or sponsorship.
PLASA, and a small number a member companies support this fantastic event, but more are needed, so please let us know if you feel you could contribute in some way.
