As well as picking up the award at this year's Yorkshire Business Masters awards, J&C Joel has also been 'Made in Britain' accredited, further showing its dedication to providing UK manufactured goods worldwide.
Celebrating the success and achievements of businesses operating across the region, the Yorkshire Business Masters award, organised by TheBusinessDesk.com and presented by the BBC's Damian Johnson at Queen's Hotel in Leeds, further reiterates J&C Joel's global business success.
J&C Joel has been providing bespoke theatre curtains, drapes, canvasses, backdrops and stage engineering services for stage shows, events and exhibitions for more than 35 years, with export sales accounting for more than 62% of total sales for the J&C Joel Group. The company currently exports to more than 75 countries worldwide.
Though the company has achieved worldwide reach through an international network of offices in Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Macau and Hong Kong, J&C Joel is renowned for celebrating its British heritage and values, and is the most recent business to be awarded with the Made in Britain accreditation.
The Made In Britain campaign is a member-funded, non-profit organisation, which aims to promote and support manufacturing in the UK. Over 400 companies have signed up to be Made In Britain members to date.
To highlight the provenance of their UK-made products, J&C Joel can now use the new, award-winning Made In Britain marque. Commissioned by the Made in Britain campaign directors, the logo was created by design and branding agency The Partners. Taking inspiration from the Union Flag, the marque works as a directional device as well as a logo in its own right. It has also been designed to be localised by county or region.
James Wheelwright, Group CEO at J&C Joel, commented: "We are delighted to win the Yorkshire Business Masters award, and being recognised as the best SME exporter in the region demonstrates our dedication to providing the best service to our partners and customers worldwide.
"Having been awarded the Made in Britain accreditation, we are more dedicated than ever to celebrating our British heritage. We are proud that British quality is recognised throughout the world, and this recognition has undoubtedly helped us to grow and cement our export business. We look forward to growing and improving throughout 2015, and already have some exciting projects lined up."
