James was happy to formalise the opening of J&C Joel South Africa with Declan Randall (one of South Africa's leading lighting designers and theatre consultants), their South African partner at J&C Joel HQ in Halifax England. (see image). For the last ten years, Barry Snow has been J&C Joel's representative in South Africa and he is now becoming their full time general manager.
Barry started his career in the live theatre in the early 1960's and worked for many years for the Arts Councils in South Africa in the technical field. He first met John Wheelwright when he was in the employ of the SA State Theatre as the head of Stage Services and became the J&C Joel representative in South Africa when the State Theatre was closed in 2000.
Barry is looking forward to uplifting the profile of J&C Joel in south and southern Africa and feels that, with his long experience in the theatre and live events industry, and in collaboration with Declan Randall and his staff can make good inroads into the industry.
Barry and his team will be offering the same J&C Joel quality service that their customers are used to and as ever they will have a full range of products on the ground of Johannesburg.
