"This is a very challenging standard, focusing on customers," said Clancy president Mike Murphy. "All of the elements are about quality - not just in manufacturing, but the complete customer experience. It's important that all our partners, from specifiers and rigging installers to end users, get a system that is on time, complete, and correct."
Murphy continued, "ISO 9001 is a set of quality management requirements with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. Our ISO 9001:2008 quality management system addresses design, installation, project management, and quality. It requires that top management be actively involved and that the system be responsive to customer needs and requirements."
Clancy first implemented the ISO 9001 in 2002, and has used this rigorous standard to improve customer focus, manufacturing processes, product development, consistency and quality. The standard also covers design, engineering, and testing, providing consistent products with a higher level of safety and reliability.
Clancy has used the standard to focus the company on the importance of understanding and meeting customer requirements, communication, resource requirements, and training. These areas go far beyond manufacturing to include Clancy's commitment to customer safety-as evidenced by Clancy providing the initial funding for the ETCP professional rigger certification program, and the company's participation and funding of the USITT Rigging Safety Initiative announced last week, says the company.
