Under the Scheme, expenditure on approved technologies and products can qualify for 100%, up-front tax relief, delivering a significant cash-flow boost and shortening the payback period on the investment. In addition to this initial financial incentive, anyone buying products from the Pixelrange will enjoy the long-term benefits of the LED technology - with its long lamp life, low power consumption, low maintenance and dramatically reduced running costs.
The ECA is part of a £50 million government fund available for energy efficient and renewable products set up under the climate change levy package. It’s an integral part of the government’s long term environmental strategy to encourage manufacturers to produce energy-efficient products and businesses to invest in them. In addition to the claiming for the cost of the product itself, any costs directly associated with the provision of the product - like installation - can also be claimed from the ECA. Mervyn Thomas, general manager of James Thomas Engineering, told us: "Registering Pixelrange for the Scheme was an obvious move.
