"We installed Max monitors and Ci80s on the altar immediately adjacent to the Buddha and used d&b E-PAC amplifiers to power the loudspeakers," continued Kim. "All the loudspeaker cabinets were finished in gold paint inorder to make them blend in with the rich and sumptuous surroundings. The reason we selected the Max and Ci80 loudspeakers was because of the shape and size of the congregation space and, more importantly, the remarkable vocal presence and clarity. A neutral balanced sound was particularly suited to the low, deep voice tone of the monks," explained Kim.
When it came to the actual opening ceremony, which was held in a wide-open area before two thousand invited guests, Kim decided to use the more powerful d&b audiotechnik Q-Series system. The Chon Tae Order has around two million followers. It administers Kum Kang College, publishes a number of Buddhist newspapers and has plans to build a network of temples across South Korea where devotees can seek spiritual rejuvenation and strive to understand the profound truths of Buddha.
