"The design and architecture of the chapel, being long and narrow, required a particular small frame speaker but they also had some band requirements too," explained Rod Fishwick, managing director of ASV Audio Visual. "That meant I had very few speakers to choose from and the JBL CBT 70J fitted the bill perfectly. It offered both voice intelligibility as well as the fullness to support organs and some light band music."
As well as fulfilling the performance and technical requirements the JBL CBT 70J speakers fit the architectural design of the building blending into their surrounding location. The slim, compact design fits well into virtually any architectural decor. The 70 cm tall line array height provides consistent pattern control throughout the intelligibility band, making the CBT 70J work well in difficult acoustic environments.
Five pairs of JBL CBT 70J are positioned down the length of the Chapel whilst JBL Control ceiling speakers service the foyer area.
"We've had so many favourable comments on their sound quality," remarked Fishwick. "The opening of the Chapel was attended by the Archbishop who also made comments on the quality of the sound. In fact everyone involved has been blown away by the sound as no matter where you are in the Chapel every word is heard crystal clear."
