Among its features is the ability to link multiple units together, enabling single HD images to be spread across many output displays - ideal for multiscreen applications. In addition, the mixer can be remotely controlled by any Edirol instrument via MIDI or RS-232C. Other features are, picture-in-picture with joystick, size-dial to control position, size, pan and zoom, plus a lock facility can be used simultaneously with the keyer in the HD and graphics section. The built-in TBC and real-time upconverter and scaler all ensure totally smooth transitions.
You can now happily mix together your existing SD video footage with new 720p or 1080i HD material. Whether the resolution of your computer graphics are VGA or SXGA, this new mixer accepts them, ready for upconverting and rescaling, as required. The output can always be true HD even if the input is not.
"It makes perfect sense for JVC, with its powerful line-up of HDV 3-CCD camcorders and SD widescreen Hitachi studio cameras, to have such a powerful systems tool as the V-440HD which literally brings together the worlds of HD and SD video with graphics thrown in," said Ian Scott, director, Pro Video Operation of JVC Professional Europe's office in London.
